Like most people, I am a series of contradictions: a listener and a talker, opinionated and inquisitive, a people-lover who relishes time alone, a keema and dal loving Indian-American who could easily live on cheeseburgers and fries.
I’ve always walked between two cultures and in doing so, developed the habit of noticing everything in great detail so I could fit in wherever I was placed. Higher education refined my propensity for observation into an ability to think critically and question thoughtfully. I learned to analyze data to substantiate my perceptions and spent a decade conducting and directing public health research.
With my writing, I want to understand what comes after a first impression. I want to question the “certainty” of hard data. I want to start a conversation.
